Meet The TEAm

Known affectionately as “the tea lady”, founder Brandi Shelton, has spent nearly two decades building just add honey tea company into a nationally recognized brand that invites people to slow down, connect, and sip tea differently. Inspired by her grandmother’s home remedies and her own travels to tea rooms around the world, Brandi blends southern charm with global sophistication in every cup.

Since launching in 2006, Brandi has grown the company from a weekend hobby to a thriving retail café, an expansive e-commerce shop, and a wholesale brand featured in restaurants, boutiques, and hotels across the country. She has been featured in Essence, The New York Times, Black Enterprise, MSNBC, Travel Noire, and dozens of other outlets, and continues to innovate with new blends, events, and tea experiences.

Beyond the business, Brandi is a mentor, author of Leaf to Launch, and sought-after speaker on entrepreneurship, creativity, and building community through tea. She actively serves in leadership roles, sharing her expertise and passion for helping others steep success into their own ventures.

Mr. just add honey Jermail Shelton brings warmth, strategy, and an unshakable commitment to community to his role as co-owner of just add honey tea company. Since joining the business in 2016, he has expanded the brand’s reach through wholesale partnerships, mobile tea bars, and event activations across the Southeast.

Guided by the principle of Ubuntu— “I am because we are” —Jermail oversees marketing, operations, and strategic growth, ensuring that every customer interaction, from the farmers market to the retail café, feels personal and memorable. His background in building relationships has been instrumental in forging long-standing partnerships and growing the TEAlovers community.

When he’s not driving the business forward, Jermail can be found traveling, kayaking, hiking, and spending time with family, always ready with a smile and a cup of tea.
